  We arrived at 7:15 PM on a Saturday night in early August. We sat at the bar for a couple of cocktails while we waited for a table. You might benefit by calling ahead for reservations for more than a party of two. The drinks were good, but expensive. ($3.50 for a mixed drink.) The bartenders were extremely friendly and engaged folks in conversation. We were seated about 45 minutes after our reservation time but, in fairness, we had told them we were in no hurry to be seated when the hostess checked with us about 20 minutes after arrival. They had some tables available, but I think they were waiting to give us a table that was situated in a good location. After being seated, we placed our dinner order immediately and were told to enjoy the salad bar at our leisure. The salad bar consisted of a lettuce salad a few garnishments such as three bean salad and some cheese and sausage--not very extensive--but adequate. After consuming our salad, we waited over an hour for our entree' to be served. The waitress had only checked on us once during the hour. We did not summon the waitress to our table to question the wait. Our supper was finally served; my husband had rare blackened prime rib with mushrooms and a twice-baked potato. He thought the prime rib was done very nicely. I had the filet with three ginormous fried shrimp and the twice-baked potato. My meal was delicious. I was able to cut the filet with a butter knife, never even picked up the steak knife.
  Overall, we had a good dinner but there was no explanation as to the kitchen delay with our food service. We'd go back to enjoy an evening out locally, but not on a regular basis. I’d recommend you try it for yourself.

  Great north woods food. Service is very good. My friends and i come up from Milwaukee area few times a year and always get fish fry's.
